Rapper Lil Wayne, was born Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., on September 27th, 1982 and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. Who ever knew he would go on to be a Grammy Award winning rapper. However, trouble is never far behind his doorstep as he raps about, on January 23rd, 2008, Lil Wayne's tour bus was stopped by border patrol Agents in Arizona and a K-9 Unit recovered 105 grams (3.7 ounces) of marijuana, almost 29 grams (1.02 ounces) of cocaine, 41 grams of MDMA (1.4 ounces) and $22,000 in cash. Lil Wayne was charged with four felonies: possession of narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia. The rapper then posted bail and pleaded not guilty on May 6th, 2008. This year 2009 hasn't not been much better for the rapper either on October 22nd, 2009, the rapper pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon and is expected to receive a year or more in jail following his sentencing in February 2010. |
